Meal support:
exposure sessions
Our meal support sessions use exposure therapy – a type of cognitive behavioural therapy – to help you rebuild your relationship with food and eating over a period of time. Together, we'll help you work through the thoughts and feelings that come up around mealtimes, and build strategies to challenge and change old behaviours into new routines that make meals enjoyable.
During exposure sessions, together we'll help you:
Identify and challenge your food rules
Stay accountable to your meal plan created with your dietitian
Become a Conscious Eater
Create more variety in your food choices
Challenge your fear foods with guidance and support
Change behaviours and rituals around food
Build effective strategies for during and after meals
Create enjoyable and soulful experiences around food and eating
Post-meal debriefs to set you up for the day

Our role is to help you implement the goals you are working on with your treatment team, rather than giving specific advice around food. It isn’t within our scope to provide nutritional advice. You can check out our referral partners page to find a dietitian who specialises in eating disorders/disordered eating.

We have a range of packages available where meal support can be substituted in place of 1:1 coaching sessions.
