The Uncovery Story

How we got here

Uncovery was born out of personal experience and a genuine desire to help those in need.

Olivia, our founder, personally struggled with an eating disorder and found herself facing many obstacles during her recovery journey. The pathway often felt so focused on the clinical aspect of recovery, that there wasn’t support for what happens when you go back home, or finding deeper healing and purpose. How did people transition back into reality? How did they find value in life again? No one was there to help her with what comes next.

Olivia knew something was missing in eating disorder recovery services available in Australia. And so, deeply driven by her experience, Olivia was inspired to establish Uncovery in 2018.

Why we do what we do

Our team, based in Melbourne and Perth but available (virtually) worldwide, understands just how challenging and, at times, isolating the journey to recovery from disordered eating can be. That’s why we strive to bridge the gaps in support and create a more holistic approach to recovery. We emphasise practical reintegration into everyday life during and beyond treatment, empowering you with the skills and tools you need to help build a sustainable path to food freedom.

As eating disorder recovery coaches, we act as an extension to your treatment teams, guiding you through the practical steps of making behaviour changes to support your recovery. With a focus on individualised and accessible support, we work alongside you, your family, and any treatment providers you may have to ensure a collaborative and successful journey.

Our unique approach takes into account your daily routines, rituals, and behaviours, giving us a deeper understanding of any roadblocks you may encounter on your road to recovery. Even if you haven't been diagnosed with an eating disorder, we're here to help you break free from disordered eating and build a healthier relationship with food and your body.

We truly believe that recovery is possible, so if you're ready to reclaim your life, we're here to support you every step of the way.

Real stories of transformation

  • "When I was first diagnosed with an eating disorder I was confused, lost and terrified.Trying to navigate the system and know what I needed to recover was impossible while being so unwell and no matter where I turned I couldn’t seem to get the help I needed. Then Olivia came into my life and everything changed. She was compassionate, understanding, yet strong and able to hold space for me... Most importantly she knew exactly what I needed and how to set up a strong team around me. She helped to change my life, I am now recovered and would not be where I am today without her. "

  • "Olivia at Uncovery was instrumental in my recovery. From the beginning, she worked with my treatment team to ensure a consistent and holistic approach was taken. It was fantastic for me to be able to communicate with someone who also had lived experience and had been down the same road. Her presence and support reminded me that full recovery is possible and kept me going through the tough times. I am now living a full and happy life, and know Olivia's support was a big part of my journey back to wellness."

  • “Working with Olivia at Uncovery has been so valuable in helping me navigate my recovery. Having the support of someone with lived experience made me feel safe to put my trust into someone else and to know that I would be fully understood, because she knows what this journey feels like. Working with Uncovery has been such a game changer and Olivia has helped me to see that my end goal of living a fully recovered life is absolutely possible.”

  • "After battling both anorexia and bulimia for 25 years, I started sessions with Olivia after hearing a TED Talk about new ways of approaching eating disorders. My curiosity led me to her and her sessions which became a change agent. Being able to share your deepest and darkest with someone who's recovered and has felt every bit the way you have was the magic I needed to recover. I combined this with working with a nutritionist and really sticking to a plan for real."

  • "Working with Uncovery has honestly been one of the most rewarding things that I have done in my whole life and has driven my recovery. My coach has been an amazing support and an invaluable resource, it has really helped that she has experienced the same things I have and has been one of the people that has helped me the most."

  • "When I first met my coach, even through the computer I could tell how friendly and supportive she was going to be with me through this really vulnerable journey. My coach is consistently present in all our sessions, pushing me to challenge myself and my thoughts whether it be through mental or physical exercises and always there to celebrate the little wins. The ongoing encouragement and openness in our sessions has made this journey a less intimidating one and I have learnt so much more than I could have imagined."

Charlotte is an eating disorder recovery coach who is deeply passionate about helping others achieve full recovery and live their lives to the fullest.
